Swimming is my chosen sport and I enjoy every aspect of the training and competing.
It's not easy going straight from school to the pool everyday and waking up three times a week at 4.00am. I do this because I know that I must take advantage of every opportunity to improve my fitness and swimming technique.
I have progressed from swimming lessons to now competing at County and Regional level; last year I qualified for 9 Regional events. At the City of Sheffield Summer meet at the end of last season I won four medals. I missed out on the English Championships by three places last season. I am now in the National Squad; where my goal is to train as hard as possible to make this season my best ever.
My academic studies have not been affected by swimming, I have never not done my home work or revision and last year I won the prestigious Wheatley Prize for distinguished work in Figures at the Grand Academy.
I have made some lifelong friends through swimming and I have been to training camps in Spain and Italy.
I am focused on achieving the best results that I can in both swimming and my academic studies at The Mount and I truly believe that whilst not everyone can be the best, everyone can do their best.
